Yes. Have your crew sit on the oppersite side going downwind. the object is to bring you side just out of the water. Crew might get pretty wet and you do need quiet a bit of wind.

Not unless you want to go swimming.

None of the top H 16 sailors wildthing downwind. similar to a H 14 it sails very deep down wind. Think barn door not wing.

If you are referring to the powerboat modification that Dick Koogle and I designed, we have successfully been able to use them on the Hobie 16. We were apprehensive about trying the idea, but it worked quite well. Very limited in weight aboard, however.
