the hulls? I was thinking of using the hulls for a little storage for camping. I thought it might be a good way to get the water out of the hulls as well since one realy has to tip the hulls up quite a ways to get the normal drain plug to work.

You must have one of the new boats that does not have inspection ports on the hull decks back near the transoms.

All the earlier boats had those inspection ports, and I always use them to sponge the water out of my hulls, because it is easier than lifting up the hulls and finding somebody to monitor the water exodus.

As far as storage for camping, a Wave sailor up in Canada cut big hatches on each hull, between the seats, and was able to store an incredible amount of camping equipment, tent, stove, food, everything. He and a friend went beach-hopping on one of the Great Lakes for a week or two.

The whole story was in my magazine, but I don't think I can find it right now.

That's kind of what I was thinking about doing. I have an older club Wave with the non lacing tramp.

As for putting the hatch between the seats, I often sit there. It would have to be stout yet comfortable to sit on.

Naturally, I'd rather use a hobie 21SC, but I don't have the disposable income:*(

There is a bunch of parts for sale at www.thebeachcats.com that might be fun to play with.
