I recently spotted a Hobie 16 with a nice aluminum trailer. Although the boat has seen it's better days, the trailer looks great. I was thinking about buying the package just for the trailer. I will most likely be purchasing a Hobie Wave and was wondering if the 16 trailer would be suitable for carrying a Wave. Are most 14 and 16 trailers able to accomodate a Wave?

Sure. Just adjust the rollers to fit the Wave.

If you can't adjust the rollers for some reason, you can always make the trailer into a flatbed, which is what we have done with all our trailers now, by bolting on two sheets of plywood and covering them with carpet that we scavenge from the dumpster behind Al's Carpet. <img src=

This way we are able to carry anything from a Wave to a Nacra 6.0 and it can also be used as a utility trailer, to carry anything from furniture to bags of topsoil.

Mary beat me to it. Can't beat a flat bed with nice cushy carpet.
Also, the aluminum trailer should be worth quite a bit. If it is a trailex, even more so.
