NOTICE OF RACE
IWCA Wave North Americans
Pensacola Beach Yacht Club
October 24 - 27, 2013

1. Management and Rules
The regatta will be sailed under the management of the PBYC Race Committee and will be governed by the current Racing Rules of
Sailing (RRS) and the IWCA Class Rules.

2. Classes
Open Wave, Master, and Women Classes will be scored.

3. Sailing Instructions
The Sailing Instructions will be available during Check In/Registration and prior to the Skippers’ Meeting to be held at Pensacola
Beach Yacht Club.

4. Schedule
Thursday, October 24
Check In/Registration 1000 - 1400
Practice Racing 1500 - 1700
Skippers’ Meeting 1900 ( $1.00 Tacos )

Friday, October 25
Check In/ Late Registration 0900 - 1100
Warning Flag for First Start 1155 ( following races thereafter )
Regatta Dinner 1900 ( Pizza & first drink free @ PBYC )

Saturday, October 26
Warning Flag for First Start 1055 ( following races thereafter )
Regatta Dinner 1900 ( Halloween Dinner & Party )

Sunday, October 27
Warning Flag for First Start 1055 ( No Races will be started after 1400)
Award Ceremony 1700 ( Free regatta dogs )

5. Entries and Fees
Entries may be submitted via email (http://www.pensacolabeach-yc.org/Racing/EntryForms.aspx), by mail or at the Skippers’ Meeting
but must be received by the entry deadline of 1900, October 24. Cost of the Regatta is $95.00 (with current US Sailing membership
card) and $100.00 (non-US Sailing members).

6. Course
The courses to be sailed will be based on the current IWCA Course diagram.

7. Scoring/Prizes
Scoring for this event will include a selection for the top Master Sailor and the top Women sailor as well as prizes for the top three
skippers, overall. Special award for Best Costume for Halloween event on Saturday evening so come prepared to have fun.

Recap - Day 1, 14 or so knots, 5 races. It's a lttle chilly by pensacola standards. Day 2, moved the start time from 11 to 10, good thing 'cause the wind went away about 1 as we were finishing the 3rd of the day. 8 races in the bag and here are the standings:

Day 3 turned out better than expected, 6 or 7 knots but reasonably steady. Managed to get 4 more in for a total of 12 over the 3 days. Tom Whitehurst put on a clinic, 2-3rds, a second, and 9 bullets, winning the last 6 races. Charlie Trinque had a solid last day to move into third.
