The Wave North Americans were determined to be sailed at Pensacola Beach, but we were having trouble deciding on a date.
Thanks to Bert Rice, he talked to the Commodore of Pensacola Beach Yacht Club there and the club and its Board of Directors are all for it, as well as Kirk and Charlie of Key Sailing. The dates would be Friday through Sunday, October 26-28, with an informal practice race on Thursday.
The sailing area is the Santa Rosa Sound off Quietwater Beach that boasts great sailing in smooth waters and great seabreezes daily and a nice sandy beach to launch from.
The recommended Host Hotel is the Margaritaville Beach Hotel, www.margaritavillehotel.com
who will be offering a reduced rate for the group.

Good Sailing,

Hi All,
The Pensacola Beach Group are busting their hump getting ready to host The Wave North American Championships. The folks there are anxious to see a lot of Wavers romping around in Santa Rosa Sound.
The Pensacola Beach Yacht Club and Key Sailing have had a very busy schedule of events this year, but managed to squeeze in the Wave North Americans for October 26-28th, with practice racing on Thursday, and the actual event running from Friday through Sunday.
The boats will launch from the beach near Key Sailing on the sound, and the nearby host hotel is the Margaritaville Hotel < http://www.margaritavillehotel.com/ > who is offering discounted rates for the event.

Organizer of the event is Bert Rice , should you all need more information. Attached is the Notice of Race.
They have great sea breezes daily on a very protected Sound, with flat water and 15 mph winds. And great hospitality -- they know how to throw a party.

The NOR is attached and you can pre-register by clicking here:

HI Tami !!

Yeah, the F-27 shrunk <img src="<>/laugh.gif" alt="laugh" title="laugh" height="15" width="15" /> Actually we have a Jeanneau 42 DS

White Caps

...and about 14 other boats to keep us busy <img src="<>/laugh.gif" alt="laugh" title="laugh" height="15" width="15" />...we have the Jeanneau in Pensacola now....Don't know if you heard, but Tammy was swinging off a rope swing on Lake Austin, this Summer while Paddleboarding and forgot to raise her legs high enough and Snapped her shine bone in half along with breaking her wrist in several places...she's pretty much bedridden but lately has been using a walker some...she needs somebody with her pretty much all the time...I don't know if she would be to keen if I left her with a box of Pop-tarts and a gallon of water and took off for the weekend to go race the Wave in Pcola <img src="<>/laugh.gif" alt="laugh" title="laugh" height="15" width="15" />......Although I may try to go for One Day at least, it would be last minute, but I may get a pass....Sort of

shut us down

for the Summer, I did do a Paddle board race in Destin and some Wed. night Wave racing in Lake Charles. I may still register, just to help support the

cause

, but not sure I'll make it.

Mark,

I am sorry to hear about Tammy's injury, but I am glad you have joined the Wayne Jablonowski Big Keeler Club. He has a
Benetau 40.7 tied to a hitching post in his back yard near Tammany Yacht Club. Beth wanted a better galley 🙂

Do stop by if you are in town.

Best of fortune for Tammy's full recovery.

Bert

Hi Bert,
I'll tell Tammy you said Hi...RE: Wayne, no wonder I haven't seen his F boat out sailing <img src="<>/laugh.gif" alt="laugh" title="laugh" height="15" width="15" />...We move our Jeanneau to Madisonville on the North Shore, for the Winter, maybe I'll run into him there. I understand about Beth..Tammy wanted a King size Bed <img src="<>/laugh.gif" alt="laugh" title="laugh" height="15" width="15" /> ...But we tow the Wave behind it, so I can have some fun sailing when we anchor <img src="<>/laugh.gif" alt="laugh" title="laugh" height="15" width="15" /> <img src="<>/laugh.gif" alt="laugh" title="laugh" height="15" width="15" />. and our Girls like it. <img src="<>/laugh.gif" alt="laugh" title="laugh" height="15" width="15" />.
