Wave Ntl Series Calendar, Check Who is Coming
Go to:
https:/
It is an open spread sheet. Just add your name in the left column, and Type Y if attending, M for Maybe, and N for Not coming.
This hopefully will let us all know who is coming and who is not to each regatta. I would rather this type of program be on www.catsailor.com rather than Google, but this will have to do until I can find someone that knows how to do it.
Rick
Rick, I see the NA's say Indy, but details TBA. If you would want to have it at the Indianapolis Sailing Club, rather than the Eagle Creek Saing Club (just for variety), I can look into that possibility. I don't want to step on any toes if you or Skip are already working on it.
We could probably piggy-back it onto one of the regattas already on the schedule: ISC Race Schedule
The Champion's Cup (Sept 17 & 18)is a charity fund-raiser regatta for the Special Olympics. That might be a good one to tie into. It's an open-to-the-public regatta, with entry fees and sponsorships going to Special Olympics. Last year was the first year we did it, and outside participation was kind of light. I won the Portsmouth Fleet trophy because I was the only entrant.
He told me that he was planning on the BIG wave event for Sept (Governors Cup?) and that the Mayors Cup would be the smaller of the two events. My group is still planning on going to Indy in May to sail Waves, 16s and 17s. If I can be of help to anyone on this, drop me a line. The Mayors Cup in Indy in May was a very well run and fun regatta with awesome food, drinks and fun. It is a points regatta for 16s and 17s (HCA points) and for HCA Waves as well.

Hi Chris,
Yes, we have the Nationals in KL every year same time, same palce, and move the NAs around to different venues every year. We prefer the NAs to be mid to late summer.
That is why Skip might be tying it in with another venue in the fall. No effect on the May event,
Rick
Rick...I updated the Regatta sign-up list.
You might want to check it out and see if you want to add or delete anything.

I updated a couple dates for 2013.
This is a great communication tool lets all stay on top of it:>
Mimi
Mimi,
I think you and I are the only Wave sailors with computers!
None of the usual suspects ever look at the Wave forum, let alone this spreadsheet. Too bad.
Looks like a lot of new people coming to the nats.

July 30-Aug 2 -- Hobie Wave North American Championships, (This is a combined IWCA and HCA regatta, all starting and racing together and scored separately). Put-in-Bay, OH, During the I-LYA Bayweek Regatta, PIBYC.

We are coming from Iowa/MN/SD and hope to bring 5-8 boats. Be awesome if we could get a 30-40 number for this regatta.
Comments by Rick:
Put-in-Bay is one awesome venue -- great fun on the water and tremendous fun on land. There is so much to do.., Perry's Monument, Wineries, Night Clubs with national entertainment, caves, great bars and restaurants, and the NAs are being held in conjunction with the I-LYA Bay Week Regatta, the largest fresh water regatta in the worlds since the mid 1800s. And they have a couple of parties per day.
DON'T MISS THIS REGATTA.
And it is not just for Waves
There will be an open cat class on DPN or if there are 5 boats you can have your own class.

Be sure to head to town not the lighthouse

Hey Guys, I do not own a Wave, but have sailed one once and they seem like a pretty cool boat that I would like to purchase some day. Any chance of getting a charter boat for the North American Champs in Ohio this summer? I live in New Orleans and have been racing a long time, just never a Wave.
We have several boats at Put-In-Bay that will not be used. Call me ASAP if you are serious about coming to Bay Week.
Any charter fees would be rather small.
We hope you can make it.
