I found this movie file that Wouter posted.

http://www.thebeachcats.com/videos/BladeF18.mpg

If the web link just takes you to the video listing it's down the page a bit.

Check out the Mozzies towards the end of the clip. Does anyone know where this movie was taken and who are the Mozzies ? Could possibly be in Sth Aust.

Regards,

Peter

Pete,
I shot the movie. It was in South Ausralia.
It was a distance race from Goolwa to Milang.

The mossies were filmed sailing down the river into lake Alexandrina.

Sorry I was only there for the day and don't know the Mossie sailors.

Regards,
Phill [Linked Image]

The white MK2(1735) is Rick Tuohy, the red Mk1 I'm not sure who, cant see it on the results. http://www.gryc.com.au/MG/Results/Results%20Final%20Correction190205.HTM

If it was the last Goolwa/Milang I do recall Andrew De-Laines Go-Nads being there. Andrew can confirm obviously. I will check the video when I get home as I am now at work and dont want to download 21meg here.. <img src=

You just can't get away with anything these days, go for a quiet sail & get shot with a video...
Great footage Phill.
I can thoroughly recommend the race if anyone is thinking of going next year, February.- Downhill most of the way, great way to see the River Murray & Lake Alexandrina. We took 3 Mozzies from Barmera, the others were in front of me when the video was taken- they finished 1st & 2nd MkII Mozzies home, even after a quick swim. I had to settle for 1st. MkI over the line.

Cheers

Andrew

Andrew

No you can't get away... I have entered the last two Goolwa-Milang Classics. The 2005 was light and uphill to the lake and hard work and slow.. The last one 2006 was as you said downhill and heaps of fun. I will be entering my mozzie in the next one and I may even try to coax a few of the Christies boys into joining in.

Well done on first place...

Andrew,
Sorry about that.
#Looks like a great race.
I'd like to do it on a Blade f16 some time.

Phill

Hi all,

just remember under spinnaker a Mossie would be going nearly as fast, again they proved it at the recent Sauna Sail, passing F18's at times downwind. <img src=

That's what keeps Tim and Neil so excited and the grin on Philip Warren Smiths face was almost impossible to wipe off after a couple of the races, specialy as he passed me on

Altered

(upside down), of course the Gods payed him back as he to ended up upside down. <img src=

Go Spinnaker it will be the ride of your life almost every time you go out.
