To all SA sailors likely to come over for the first edition of state titles, this thread is here to answer any question (if we can) about the place that may make your weekend a better all-round experience. We'll try to assist you in any way possible...

What no comments? No special bar requests? No local knowledge enquiries (not that I'd give them away...)?

Mozzie sailors must be shy or too polite...

Who's coming this weekend anyway?

I am. Do you have a link to an accurate weather forecast for your area?

Hi Hack, at this stage we have 7 online entries, however I can think of at least 4 others that haven't yet registered that I expect to be there. We normally get somewhere between 12-15, and expect that sort of number again this weekend. Looking forward to seeing the Pt Vincent mossies there!

Good to hear from you guys.

I was only being a bit facetious earlier. It's just that at times we get phone calls etc to ensure sailors wives favourite wines are in the bar and we've even had people want us to book them accommodation...

Darren, we generally use Willy-weather as it's as accurate as anything else...sadly the news isn't excellent for us heavyweights...
Can wait to see everyone though. Should be fun.

Thanks to Hack and his PVSC team of volunteers. I had a great weekend. Please thanks all and sundry again for their effort in making the fleet feel welcomed, conducting the race programme and catering for Saturday evening's meal. Sunday lunch was a bonus!
Happy sailings and mosquito cat. hunting.

Much appreciated Phillip. It was a great weekend, and aside from the results from the local boys, we had a great time and certainly learnt a lot. Hopefully you won't have it all your own way next time we get together.
All of us were certainly impressed by the friendly and laid-back attitude of the fleet off the water and the calibre of sailing on it. We can't wait to have you back.
Thanks again to all the folk that made the effort to come over and support the event.

I can't help you with too many results as I was too far to the back to see what was going on! I know who got the wooden spoon if that helps?
I'm sure some SA officials will post them in due course...

And the pics have been posted on our club Facebook page which can be found here.

https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.567546599986111.1073741828.176905519050223&type=3

Feel free to tag yourselves, like the photos and albums and indeed the club page.

I'll get these shots and more onto the photobucket page as soon as I work out how and have some further spare time.

Cheerio

Just link them from the F.B page......

click on the pic you want to display and it will automaticly select that pic and enlarge it on the F.B site.

right click anywhere on the pic and a drop-down window will appear...... down the bottom is

properties

-> left click that

Copy the FULL address
(sometimes you wont see all the address in that script)

open up catsailor again....

post reply .....

4th icon above the posting window looks like this -> [Linked Image]

<img src="<>/wink.gif" alt="wink" title="wink" height="15" width="15" />
left click that icon and select 'non floating image'

paste the address you copied into the dropdown window that appears...

[Linked Image]

interesting main on 1695 <img src="<>/wink.gif" alt="wink" title="wink" height="15" width="15" />

but not as interesting as this one ......

hi Pirate,
If you look at the rest of the fleet photos you should find 4 other identical mains. 1695 purchased locally in SA and trying out main before nationals. Battons have been replaced with stiffer ones.

Looks like a race for who can have the most unfair curve on the leech of their main <img src="<>/confused.gif" alt="confused" title="confused" height="15" width="15" />

Or is it who has the longest second batten <img src="<>/grin.gif" alt="grin" title="grin" height="15" width="15" />.
