The Market Place .........
I often find some real treasures on the various auction sites we all cruise through be it daily or occasionally.
At times many of these gems don't get sold due to a wrong or bad listing details, sadly poople just aint speilln proper nah moor or dey aint reedin n tikin da detales proopere
<img src="<>/wink.gif" alt="wink" title="wink" height="15" width="15" />
so I figured a thread listing some of the bits we find for sale may well help others in their hunt for boats /parts etc, it may also steer the unsuspecting away from a bad deal if someone else has some knowledge they can add about the various listings.
It may also help with the Mosquito registery as unknown boats pop up (1182 is a classic example of this)

The down side is you might be the only other person 'watching' and be thinking your about to grab a bargin, sorry if I spoiled your party but I've just helped another buyer and a mozzie sailer, so add some more coin to the bank <img src="<>/wink.gif" alt="wink" title="wink" height="15" width="15" />

Hi guys,
In regard to #656 mentioned above, does anyone know any more about it???
I have a mate seriously considering it, and so I was wondering if any of you folk knew the boat or its owner and could give me any further info that would help my mate make his decision. He just missed out on #1680 and is fairly keen to try Mozzie!
Cheers
656 would be a bit of an unknown simply because of the 20years of storage that the seller has stated....
best bet would be to ask the questions via the eBay message system then get a forum member to have a look for you.
I saved the pics from the add and ran them through my photo program and the thing looks very tidy from the photos I could actually work with. Half if them are just too far out of focus to bring up clearly enough....iPhone pic quality <img src="<>/crazy.gif" alt="crazy" title="crazy" height="15" width="15" />
Contact the seller and ask for pictures to be emailed directly to you, I'd be chasing pics of the sails, boom, rudders, centreboards, none of which have been shown....
once you have those ask for some better general shots <img src="<>/wink.gif" alt="wink" title="wink" height="15" width="15" />
eBay wont let you message a email address, but you can get around it by doing this style of thing.....

I assume your mate has had a gander at these.......

and whats his 'price-range' so we can keep an eye out

Hi Hack,
there where a huge number of Mossies built in those days, but I would say that from the description and care taken this looks like a good set of hulls, so at the right price could be ok, but the rest is so dated, the buyer would only realy be buying 70's shaped (narrow, not much rocker) ply hulls, if that is what he is after, could be a good solid set of hulls.

hi Hack,
Jeff Southall is the guy selling the 17XX. Her started a tread on here a while back about it
http:/
Let me know if you cant get hold of him on here and ill get you in touch.
cheers.

Good to hear Hack, hope it goes well for your mate <img src="<>/wink.gif" alt="wink" title="wink" height="15" width="15" />
