Over the last few months a lot of boats have travelled (permanently) from Victoria to South Australia to take up residence at some club in SA (

Loose Screws

,

Two Obsessed

and

Just Do It

to name a few). The funny thing is I've heard this story from many sources but as yet no-one has said the name of the club!

Can someone enlighten us? Somewhere in SA there is a club which apparently has an explosion of Mosquito growth.

Where is it?

I was at Peter Cobdens house on Saturday when the people who picked up

Just Do It

where on there way bck to SA,
They said they will be sailing at lake Bonney, could be a good spot for the nationals some time soon.

Hi Tim

I can confirm that the boats you mentioned and more have recently taken up residence at the Lake Bonney Yacht Club, Barmera SA. This brings our numbers to a respectable 8 Mosquito's, with the possibility of more before open day.

Being a convenient half way house between Vic and Adelaide we would welcome any visitors, from either direction. With our new fleet we are looking forward to keen competion and a great social atmosphere.

Look forward to seeing you on the water.

G'day Andrew,

I take it you're a fellow mozzie sailor? Does you club run a regatta? Regattas in Victoria are put onto a calander on the Victorian Mozzie Website (by our fantastic IT man, Tim). The S.A. regattas are not listed on the S.A. Mozzie Website so we don't know when they're on.

Hi Col

LBYC typically run 2 regattas each season. The first is held on our opening day weekend, this year on Sept30th/Oct1st with Oct 2 a public holiday in SA. The second regatta is held over the Easter weekend. Exact details of regattas are to be confirmed, we have our AGM next month and I can keep you posted as the new sailing committee finalise the series.

It would be much appreciated if you could arrange for these dates to be posted on your calender.

Cheers

I'll have to organise my time and try and get to your opening day. Tim has done his usual superb job and the regatta is now listed on the Victorian Mozzie Website. Should be great if we can get a good Mozzie turn out from Vic and SA.
