Hi All,
Was wondering had a factory length for a mystere 5.0 shrouds/ standing rigging. I measured what was on my used boat and it was 19' 10". Is that the proper length? Wanted to get some replacements and its hard finding any tech specs on this boat.

Thanks

Did you ever get any information on the rigging? I just purchased a 5.0 this weekend and it needs some work! Thanks...

I have a 91 Mystere 5.0 and I replaced the standing rigging on it last year. I don't know the history on the boat so don't know what manufacture spec lengths are but here is what was on mine. Side stays, one was 236

and one was 236 5/8

. I purchased new side stays at 237

to allow room to adjust the mast a little more upright (to address heavy weather helm issue). Mine has a furler on the jib so I don't think the forestay lengths would be standard. I shortened the forestay length by 3/4

to account for the extra length of the side stays and the whole assembly ended up about 213

overall. Bridle lengths are 42.5

. Still tweaking but the more upright mast did drastically reduce the weather helm.

Thanks for the update. I just found out my 5.0 is a 1990 model, word came direct from Mystere. I have requested any factory information on the 1990 model 5.0 - if I get anything, I will pass it on.

I have some work ahead of me to get her restored, and I think it will be worth it! Short list of work ahead... Sand and paint the hulls. Strip and remove the paint form the mast, cross bars, and spinaker pole. Replace the trampoline, replace the sails main and jib. Both are in very rough shape...

Thanks Knight

Thanks. I basically have no info on my boat so if you come up with anything helpful I would love to get it. So far I have been able to do all my repairs and maintenace with generic parts and I have not had to try and get anything Mystere specific yet. If you find an accessible parts supplier that would be great to know. You mentioned the tramp and I will need to replace mine in the next year or two so interested in an option for that as well. Sounds like you've got a lot of work ahead but should have a nice boat when you are done.

Your boat had white powder coated mast and beams. Did the prior own paint over the powder coat?

Sunrise yacht products makes a tramp for the boat. You can find cheaper but not better
