Membership Crisis
All,
I was doing a little organizing last night and printed out our membership list to see where we stand. One year ago, we had 101 members, 12 of which were non-paying board members. As of today, we have 22 members, 12 of which are non-paying board members. In other words, we have 10 paying members. Not good. Assuming no other costs, our $5.00 monthly checking fee will eat our bank account by March 2005.

Hi Bob,
Agreed that this has been a bad year in the recruiting department.
We plan to have an additional optional charge at the Tradewinds for folks to join and hopefully we can get this year off to a better start.
Jake is supposed to be here and Jay, so perhaps we can get some folks yapping it up a bit more.
In the overall scheme of things it seems we rose to the occasion when the Hobie Group got nasty, but now that they have mellowed out, NAMSA has not seemed so important.
But, my feeling is that we must hang in there and keep working toward the goals of helping all groups of multihulls.
I think we might have something good working in the insurance department so that we can offer reduced costs on insurance if we sanction an event.
We'll have to see how that goes.
Thanks for keeping up the great work, Bob. I feel sure it will all pay off for sailing in the long run.
Rick
