The Town of Madison, CT and the Garvin Point Sailing Club are pleased to announce the first annual Joe Manganello Memorial R

I would like to slightly revise our NOR posted on www.catsailor.com main forums to reflect current status of the Joe Manganello Memorial Regatta to be held on May 17-18 in Madison, CT.

As a result of cost increases, registration fee will be $40 per boat and not $35 as posted. Obviously, this is our cost for the dinner and two breakfasts and the tee-shirts. (Nobody is making any extra money on the regatta!)

Additionally, as a result of town policy, the gate to the park will be locked at 10PM (one hour earlier than listed) on Friday May 16. Fellow F18 sailor Greg Ferrara and I will greet night owls on Friday night until 10-10:30PM-ish.

The changes to the NOR posted on your website are highlighted and bolded below as follows:

ENTRY FEE: $40.00 per boat, includes all association fees. Three trophies per division. NO PRE-REGISTRATION necessary. On-line(Before May 7) or on-site registration on Saturday, May 17, 8:30 - 9:15 AM

Upcoming Schedule of Regatta Events:

Date Time Event
5/16/2008 8am Till 10PM Arrival and parking
5/17/2008 9:00am Registration
5/17/2008 9:30am Continental Breakfast and Skipper's meeting
5/17/2008 10:00am Races begin
5/17/2008 5:00pm Buffet reception
5/18/2008 9:00am Races begin
5/18/2008 3:00pm Closing and awards

We are expecting a good turnout. Some of the sailing school kids are also getting a live band to volunteer at the event, too. Should be a blast!

If you can, we appreciate your help in changing the NOR post. I'd just re-post, but it might be confusing. Thanks for helping us clarify the NOR post to reflect the current status of the event.

Kind regards,

Rex Denton

We are rapidly approaching the date!! The town is behind the even and it promises to be a great time. We already have 4 F18's coming and a handful of H-16's. Catering is coming along and some really cool T-shirts are in the offing! Sign up early, and we will update the website with the attendees so people can look forward to this early meet!

It's going to be a blast. The catering, trophies, RC, boats, and I hear even a band. The park gates will be open til 10 PM on friday and Greg Fererra and I will be there to great the night owls. We want to thank our sponsors, (including Catsailor!) community businesses, and a few surprisingly big businesses organizations too, all listed on the 'Entry' page at www.garvanpointsailing.com. It sure made it easier for us to plan for a successful event!!
Come Join us on the water this coming weekend, May 17-18 for a couple of days of great racing. We have assurances of starts for the folowing classes: A-Cat, F-18, Open, H-16, and I am pretty sure N-20. Come be our guests as we remember Joe and his contribution to sailing in our community!!
Rex
