The Hobie 40th Anniversary Regatta

History
We are bringing the Hobie catamaran back to her home. In 1967, the Hobie 14 first hit the beach in Dana Point. By 1968, the first Hobie 14 regatta was held with boats #2-6. In 1969, the Hobie 16 was launched and has been one of the most popular beach cats in the world for the last 40 years.
This event will include various Hobie-related activities and historical information, including Hobie catamarans, Hobie kayaks, Hobie surfing, and the participation of Dana Point community organizations. Plan to bring your family and join us for an amazing Hobie weekend in the location where it all started!!

The Hobie 16/700 class has been added as a special class for this event. The boat (320 lbs) + skipper + crew + weight at mast if needed = 700 lbs. We'd love to see everyone out on the water with us!
