Somewhere along the way I was apparenty subscribed to Catsailor Forums Archive>Catsailor Class Forums>F16 Forum? I just realized that notices regarding posts in the recent Revival and Spinnaker Retreival topics landed in my Spam Folder. While viewing the topics and posts, I'm seeing places to subscribe to them but not unsubscribe.
I went to My Profile>Subscriptions, and, in the Subscription Manager area, I saw that I was (unknowingly) subscribed to some of those Catsailor Forums Archive forums, but not all and not the F16 forum. (I unchecked the rest of the boxes...prefer to visit the site often and review via Recent Posts.)
As you know I'm not good at this stuff (probably missing something), but...With regard to the Catsailor Forums Archive, what is the difference between the list in the Subscription Manager area of My Profile>Subscriptions and the list just below there (with the little bells over to the right)? The F16 Forum doesn't even appear in the lower list. Don't see the F20 Forum either?
I'm confused! unskrib! 😆Â
@rattlenhum Hey Jerome, sorry for the issue. I am not sure why you are subscribed to most of the old Catsailor forums. I was worried that during the migration maybe everyone was somehow subscribed to those.
But it looks like it is just you. 😉Â
I'm going to unsubscribe you to all the Catsailor Forums now. Hate to hear that the notifications were going to spam in your email, please mark them as "not spam" if you can and add the email news@eml.thebeachcats.com to your contacts to help with delivery.
Since you found the subscribe manager in your profile, you are almost there. There are two ways to remove a subscription there, the first is to uncheck the boxes as you did, but then you need to "Update Subscriptions" with the button.Â
After you click the button you will notice that the forums you unchecked have now disappeared from the list below with the crossed-out bell icons. This is because that was a list of all the forums to which you are subscribed. You can use the bell icon to unsubscribe to a particular forum without having to scroll the list to find the checkbox.
One other "feature" that could be confusing.
When you use the checkbox list to subscribe to a forum, you can choose to get notifications for ONLY NEW TOPICS (Check the Topics Box) or BOTH NEW TOPICS AND NEW POSTS (Check the Topics and posts) box. You can only check one or the other. In either case, the forum will now appear on the list below of your subscriptions. If you click the bell icon beside a subscribed forum it will unsubscribe and disappear from you list. The checkbox might remain until you refresh the page but you are already unsubscribed.
