Another Southern Boat.

All,
I'm pleased to report that I've joined the ranks of F17 owners. Hull #505 will be making it's way down from the frozen tundra of Michigan some time in January to begin it's existence as
Strategery 4
. I did a lot of research before deciding on this boat, and I'm really excited to be sailing with you all.
I hope you all can put up with my sailing while I come down the curve on this unirig catamaran thing. Give me room for at least the first year...

Cliff,
Congrats on the new boat! Sorry I wasn't able to help you out with the delivery...
I do think you will love it...
but you might have loved a Blade more <img src="<>/smile.gif" alt="smile" title="smile" height="15" width="15" />
Regardless of whether it is faster to the downwind mark or not, it is still a blast when solo and out on the trap with the spin up!
hopefully I will see you around down there!

I'd be happy to if I were driving... but you would still have to do better than beer if I had to deal with a screaming 3 y/o and 2 m/o for 15 hours!
You planning on mast up storage at the club? If not, you are welcome to keep it on the water over at my place in Navarre (mast up, etc etc). Would love to get together and sail uni vs uni sometime for the fun of it. I think my racing days are probably past.

Congrats Cliff!
Wow, another boat at the FWYC and sitting side by side. That makes 3 F17 racers in the panhandle within 25 miles. Who will be next to take the plunge in the FWB area?

Hey Staterery I just bought a F17 from Mark up in Michigan. He was telling me that someone from Destin was picking one up soon with a double stack trailer. Is this you? If so I was wondering if my boat could catch a ride to Destin? I would be more than happy to chip in on the gas bill. I am in Ocean Springs, MS and would much rather go to Destin to pick up a boat than Michigan for obvious reasons.
Thanks,
Andrew
Drew,
This is too cool!!! Well, you know the road to Fort Walton where the 17s will play! Get in touch with Ken and we can have a few weekends of fun over the winter. You will learn a LOT <img src="<>/grin.gif" alt="grin" title="grin" height="15" width="15" />. Congrats on the boat and welcome to the fleet!! <img src="<>/cool.gif" alt="cool" title="cool" height="15" width="15" />

it is all good. what comes around goes around. or is it what goes around comes around? dunno
did Craig ever tell you that he let me drive Strategery during one of the weds night races years ago? he let me drive the whole race! kind of sold the wife on the the tri! not that you were there, but I owe you.
glad to help out... sure would have rather them be F16s but cats are cats and I think the two boats are more similar than not.

So that explains the crease on the starboard Ama...
Just kidding. Of course I knew. He said that you never stopped smiling. We were like drug dealers trying to build the fleet...
Still, very cool of you to pull the boat down with you (not to mention the 2 hours to go get it). You've got chits in my book.
YAHOO!!
The 2 boats are now sitting in Destin, FL. Hopefully, Andrew will be coming over from Miss today to get his new boat! And, we will have a tuning / familiarization session at the FWYC. <img src="<>/smile.gif" alt="smile" title="smile" height="15" width="15" />
It's January, right?
Bob <img src="<>/wink.gif" alt="wink" title="wink" height="15" width="15" />
Bob, thanks for all your help today. If I am not on the water before January is over I will be very dissapointed! I have sailed a beach cat every month of the year except December and Febuary, I think I will be crossing Feb. off my list this year....You gotta love the south!
Yep, sailing in the south in winter is fun! <img src="<>/grin.gif" alt="grin" title="grin" height="15" width="15" />
Cliff's boat is all tied down at the club and mine is headed to the glass shop for ding repair from last year. I should be back on the water in 2 weeks. If you have any questions, fire away! Once you are all setup, it's just time on the water.

Bob,
You rock. Thanks for your help rigging the boats. Andrew...that is one fine looking ride there. Remember that I hand washed that beauty for you before you saw it for the first time - I want plenty of room at the start and marks from now on!
Mark - thanks for packing up everything well - it got a littl wet in the boxes, but we caught it in time and aired everything out.
Now for the fun part...sailing.
