With sheeting my new spin back to the chainplate, I keep sucking my downhaul line into the ratchet block at the chainplate. I'm thinking about running it out to the end of the front beam this weekend and seeing how that goes.

Anyone else have a good way to deal with the downhaul line?
Thanks

I attach mine to the shroud with an overhand knot. It stops on top of the shroud adjuster cover. It does suck in to the block but it has been a while since the last time it did that. Try it this weekend. It's real handy there because this is usually where I trapeze.

I tie it to the bunji that holds my wire. Easy to get at and can go out with you or not.

The only way I've found to keep it from ever happening is by stuffing it in the pouch. I sail with it that way more often than not. It just keeps the tramp cleaner and lets me focus on my trouble areas (i.e. cleaner jibes).
