Just a reminder; PM me if you are interested in the Nacra F-17 fleet in the southeast. We are fielding requests from MS to FL! [color:

Ken,

With the Nacra F17 mopping up the fleet at the Island Fever Regatta this weekend, interest has really gone up in the F17 here in the panhandle. I'll keep you posted!

Doug,
That's great news! There are 2 at Key Sailing now. I believe one is under contract, the 2004, and the other, a 2008 demo, is still up for grabs. The boat is built to a very high standard and from what you can see in results is fast! You'll be smiling, just like me! <img src=

Bob:

Yea it is an option I am looking at. Sold the 4.3. It was a good learning boat for the move up. Am I too heavy to be competitive? Around 200 lbs. I am also looking at Blade for me and girl friend to race if she is interested. Maybe I will see you on the Fla circuit? Do you have the 17R?

Doug,

If you are around 200 lbs you are in the sweet spot. The boat still dances with the crew at that weight. At this time there are very few skippers in the fleet at the minimum. The boat can be very powerful so the added weight is a good thing sometimes.

Interesting choice of words, noting the fleet size and makeup and the fact that the F17 raced off the slowest USPN of all spi boats entered. Having a shy 6 min. to spare relative to the I-20 in 45 min racing. And 3+ min with respect to the F18.

I would love to see the elapsed time results.

I imagine you, Bob, being more of a Jasons or Krantz (F18), McDonald (F16) or Casey (I-20) material. Cleaning up on elasped time in such a fleet would indeed be more like

mopping up

for a sailor of your standing.
