I have a FXone with the comfort wings (skiff looking wings). Instead of hijacking another thread on what to do with the downhaul line. Today I was sailing in some really puffy air. Out on the wire, nothing, nothing, WHAM!. I wasn't downhauled enough, but I didn't dare come in off the wire to make the adjustment.

My question is does anyone have a good idea for what to do with this? I currently tie it off at the shroud along with the rotator line. I would like to have it tied off to the shockcord on the trap so I can reach it and adjust from the wire but that would mean having it on top of the spinnaker halyard, and the sheet. Or should I being getting this set before getting out?

Karl,

On the F17s, we run our cunningham lines over the spin halyard and sheet lines so we can make adjustments once on the wire. It might mean lengthening your line a bit but I think this will make it more comfortable for you. I always try to set it a bit before going out on the trap and fine tune from out there.
Hope this helps!
