My Hobie 17 Sport mainsail has died of old age, so I'm replacing it. I need to remove my boomlet (pre-1994, with the traveler) and install it on the new sail.

That boomlet has

end caps

that need to come off before I can slide the boomlet off the bolt rope foot. How are those end caps removed? Do I have to drill out some rivets?

Found the answer on a Hobie Cat forum -- yes, I do have to drill out a countersunk rivet. Problem solved!
