Type in Tampa Bay Catsailors on your browser. There is a contact list and their 2009 schedule. Or post on the main page of this site, there are several Tampa Bay people that a regulars.

Bruce,
Welcome to the area. There are three places with mast up storage in the area:
Gulfport yacht Club in South St. Pete. - All beach cats with buoy racing every two weeks. If you're a racer, this is where you hang out. No gulf access without going under a bridge.
Clearwater Sailing Center, Sand Key (just South of Clearwater Beach) - On the intercoastal with immediate gulf access. No real beach cat racing here.
Davis Island Yacht club, Tampa - More of a monohull club but there is mast up trailer storage for cats. Thursday night racing series.

Dunedin Causeway is where most of the casual sailing, distance racing takes place. No stargae but direct beach launch and immediate gulf access.

If you need more information, please don't hesitate to call.

Gulfport sounds like just your kind of place, but do be mindful of the one or two sandbars out there.
