2 years ago I spent hours removing the pin stripes from a hobie 16. The good thing was I used a power washer and they came off fairly easy. It took about 4 hours.
The new project the H21 has a lot more striping to remove, so I splurged $46 on a 3M pin stripe removal wheel. For all +21 ft of pinstripe it took just over an hour. Used an electric drill. There was no residue left over, did not effect gelcoat at all and the wheel could be used for probably 2 more boats. Highly recommended.
