Almost the entire bow section of my starboard hull is badly delaminated. Tried the injection method but it didn't work due to moisture in the foam core (I think that's why). Finding decent replacement hulls up here in Canada isn't as easy as down in the US, and I don't want to buy a whole other boat - they seem to run around $1200-$3000. I've read the West Systems repair manual and am considering attempting to cut off the outer skin of the hull and recoring it. Has anyone here ever tried this with any success? Obviously if I can find a good hull nearby I'd rather go that route, but I haven't found anything yet. I imagine shipping a hull would be prohibitively expensive too...

I believe he had we core material. You can try to dry it out maybe save it with another try. I don't knw anything about replacing core. Is this a deck or the side of th bow?
You might could remove a small strip along the upper area of your trouble of just the outer layer. Get a heat lamp on it for several days and a fan blowing in the ports. ..... wait 77 may not have ports. Anyway heat is good, get it good an dry. If the strip gives you some access to the inside the delaminated layers you might can run the epoxy I side between the hulls and put a few wood screw through it to pull the layers together. Then reglass in your strip.

I assume water was the main problem. I drilled about a hundred holes or so starting in the center (top) of the deck, and then worked my way towards the edges of the deck where I noticed the foam core I was drilling was wet. I injected about a liter and a half of fiberglas resin and the deck is just as soft now as it was before. Now i have a deck full of bad resin and wet foam so that's why I'm thinking of removing the skin, although it's a big job and I don't have a whole lot of spare time. There's a local guy who does fiberglass boat repairs, I may take it over there to get his opinion on it...
