I was trailering my 16, mast hit a overhanging branch, pulled mast back, port hull broke almost in two in front of the pylon. I am looking for a new hull, but hard to find one in Wyoming. Is there ANY possibility of repairing this?
I know there will be more weight from the repair, but I am primarily concerned about shearing it off in the water.

Thanks,

A

Unlikely, that is the highest stress area of the boat. And once you have 2/3 of the hull torn around the circumfrence it is unlikely any patch will hold. Post a want ad on here. Those hulls are pretty common. And if it is one hull you may even be able to ship it freight for a reasonable price. Hell look around you local sailing area, you may find one or two sitting in peoples yards that haven't been moved in 20 years (I know of 3 on my lake and I live 500 miles from nowhere). You may get a whole boat for the price of a hull.

Just plan a vacation around picking up your new boat!

You are in Wyoming, this is a bit of a drive, but you might get them cheap.
