I have a pencil size hole in my tramp and would like to fix it before it grows. Prefer to fix it myself. any suggestions?

If the tramp is shelterite, it melts. It burns easily. I stopped my small holes from getting bigger by taking a soldering iron and melting the edges together like people do with nylon rope. It does not get rid of the hole... just binds the edge.
Usually shelterite does not rip easily. So the holes are not as big an issue as one might suspect.
