Can someone post photos of their furler rigging? I got a Hobie Getaway from a friend (who's moved away), and the mast was missing (floated away in Helene). I bought a used mast elsewhere. I'm having difficulty telling if all the parts are there already.

Apologies in advance if I use the wrong terms. The furling line was too short to reach the furling pulley. I had an extra rear mast adjuster, but a friend said it wasn't designed that way, and I should stick with design. (I do want to keep him happy, because he's going to teach me how to use it!)

I'll try to attach a photo... Do I need that "adjuster" piece in there, or am I supposed to adjust it elsewhere?

Thanks!

Nevermind, I found the Getaway parts guide, and saw the part; basically, it's the same but with ten holes instead of seven. Also, it's flattened. Although, there's no mention of thickness, which is probably critical for strength...

Are they the same thickness?

@tenaja

Good advice from your friend. I always say to get things working the factory way before you start modifying and customizing the setup.

Did your replacement mast come with all the shrouds and furler or do you have a mix of parts? Lots of times owners will do things like shorten the shroud and lengthen the forestay (often using a longer adjuster).

You might be better off ordering all new factory length wires and put things together clean.

YES! Especially since those plastic-coated wires have a nice brown patina of rust. I wouldn't trust them.
