Ok sailors...I was in a tow lot to look at a car for sale and there was this hull. Being a cat man, it escaped me as to the type/manufacturer so please look at this link and give it your best guess! The hulls are in repairable condition and notice the crossbeams set about as far aft as you possibly could! She's about 18'-20' in length with no soft spots and I am curious as to the make/model. HELP! The album is titled "mystery catamaran" at this link:

Possible that it is an early Prindle design, decks viewed from the bow look similar, striker and mast ball are the same, transom looks much like the 18-2, deck to hull joint looks very Prindle. A close up of the traveler might reveal some more Prindle details. Are the beams round tube or are they oval shape?

Look at the shroud attachment points. Prindle never used them. The first and only center board Prindles were the 18/2 and 19, this is a dagger board boat, I've never seen a dagger board Prindle. The mast ball looks just like an earl Nacra, so if one got the boat a nacra mast would work. Look at how little distance from the rear cross bar to the transom, quite unusual. Jib block attachments also look like an early nacra. The shape of the transom looks like a Hobie 18. The tramp area looks huge. It may be a one off design. It is a nice looking boat, and a worthwhile project for sure.

It's almost like an A-Cat configuration with the tramp set so far back......

but whatever it is, it would certainly be a worthwhile project as Hullflyer says, but only if you get it at the right price, it will take quite a bit of cash to get it back in the water:-

Trailer
Mast
Sails
Standing Rigging
Running Rigging
Blocks
Various Hardware

Identifying the boat would help a lot...........

There is a catamaran found in a junk yard that needs a positive ID.

I think it might be a NACRA 5.2 but could be similar models, need you expert opinions. 😎

Could you get some measurements off it? It's odd in that from various angles it seems to have features deck features of a Hobie 18, but the dolphin striker support and mast step look Nacra.

Somebody loved that cat.
Custom covers for the rudders and daggers- and curved daggers at that.
Foam supports for the bows and cradles on the cattrax.
Interesting how far back the bridle attachments are on the decks.
Can't wait to hear this story.

I think it is a Ventue Cat by McGregor.

Look at the newer boat on the right.

No not a Venture Cat. Rear of tramp is too far back. The lip on the hulls is slightly different. ID does not start with MAC. No raised part on top of hulls to sit on. The Venture does not have dagger boards. I have one with straight hulls.

After consulting with a beachcat historian it has been determined that this mystery cat is a Trac 18 built by AMF Alcort, same people that build the Sunfish.

Actually surprised it turned out to be something I should have recognized since there is an Trac 18 folder in Beachcats Identification already.

I'm going to move the mystery cat into it.
