On my summer camping trip I broke one of the teeth on my Prindle's jib luff zipper.  Were the OEM zippers single pull, or double?  I already replaced this zipper once, and it had a pull inside and out, which didn't seem overly useful to me.  I am going to buy a new zipper but don't want the double pull unless there is some unknown reason for using it.

I just bought an 1987 Prindle 16 and the jib zipper only has the one pull on the outside.  When I finally worked the zipper to close for the first time the zipper pull came off in my hand.  The zipper stop at the tack of the jib had deteriorated so I threaded the zipper pull back on and created a new stop with a needle and some dental floss, I added a small cord on the pull so I can tie it in place so there is no threat of the zipper opening up while sailing.  How much should I expect to pay for a new zipper when the time comes?

You can get a continuous zipper for about $1 a foot, or a 240" zipper for about $40.  I have found a 16 footer on Offerup in the past.  I took mine to a local upholstery shop - they took the old one off and sewed in the replacement for $100.

Thanks for the tab info, too.

Because of damaging teeth, I zip the zipper when I roll the jib... seems to help protect the teeth.
