[#3793]

Hi all,

Just bought a pair of blocks for the downhaul.

I cant quite figure out how to reeve these with the becket located where it is.

Thanks in advance.

I would try this pattern but start on top at the becket

I gave those a try with no luck. Im thinking I may have to add an eyelet on top of the cam cleat and using that as a becket. not sure though...

Becket needs to be on the bottom. What boat are you putting it on?

ya. after more experimenting I realized I need the becket on the bottom... do you think an added eyelet will suffice as a becket? Its for an H16 downhaul

If you mean putting an eyestrap above the camcleat, you may not have room for the tie off and the uncleated line in the space of the eyestrap but it's worth a try.

I don't see how you need either becket. Start at cam cleat, go up to triple (to the side), down to cam cleat triple, then up & down twice and DEADEND on last sheave of cam cleat triple (with simple knot not allowing go thru sheave.). Pete

Ended up using the eyestrap as the becket. works perfectly. $60 for all parts. not too bad for a H16 downhaul.

Thanks all.

Ok... the boat unassembled. It took ages and about ten million knocks and hits with a mallet to remove a tramp. No other problems. Shall the next summer be here soon
