I only have a tablet and I have tried to post a photo with no luck.
I'm in the same boat so to speak, I use my phone exclusively and have been able to upload pics in the album section but I can't seem to cut and paste url codes and whatnot in order to post a pic within a thread. On other forums, I use tapatalk to post pics and it works well, but the forum seems to have to be in a list or something within the tapatalk app. For instance, beachcats isn't on the list of forums so therefore tapatalk won't work on here.
Let's meet up at the lake one day. My boat has not been in the water since rebuilt.

Can’t make it work from Thebeachcats either, on iPhone click an hold the picture, then Cooy, but it only works when you get the url of the picture itself (ending on .jpg typically), not something else
