ok, I am shopping for new standing rigging for the p-16 and my question is what am i supposed to do about the jib halyard block on the forestay? it is made onto the existing rigging. do I have to buy one with removable pins?

You must have an old boat if it has a jib system similar to the H-16, if that is so, I would consider updating to a zipper luff system.

The up dating is fairly expensive as he has to convert jib to zipper luff ($60-80), buy upper & lower forestay along with new halyard with S hook & sister clips. For ease of use the old system is more user friendly. Pete

I agree with Pete, I do not consider the zipper luff system an upgrade, it is far too time consuming, hence my converting to a furling jib. Stick with your old setup, with the new rigging if possible, you can always send in your old rigging with your order, and they can always recycle your old jib halyard block onto the new rigging if still in good condition.

Mine never seemed to take more than a few minutes to rig but I have never used he other to compare it to.
