I broke the top two battens on my P16 yesterday, stupidly, and had some repair questions. My boat came with some older, worn out battens from the bottom of the sail. Could I just cut those battens down to repair the top two? I noticed that they are tapered towards the luff.

Cut from the outside end, not the luff.
Can battens(foam core) that have delaminated 6"(luff end) be fixed? Can you wipe the inside surfaces with cleaner, apply resin, clamp & have a useable batten?
I have 3 in that condition, will never race, just need a few spares. Or is it a waste of time?
