[#15466]

If anyone is interested, I have a DVD of the Alpha Omega F14 sailing a variety of locations and courses over the three months from March through to May 2002.
If anyone would like to have a copy of one, just email me your postal address and I will post one to you.
My email address is
ao14@optusnet.com.au
This cat really "kicks butt" and has been competing on the same courses, same start, same finish, as the 18' cats, due to the fact that it completely "blows away" ALL the 14' AND 16'cats, and there is still plenty of room for improvement.

You keep saying that your beloved F16 class beats other bigger boats, so why not a 14 footer beating a 16 footer? It this out of the realm of your little dream world of F16 domination?

Ahh, but there is a difference between saying that a particular boat beats bigger boats and claiming that a certain boat "blows away" ALL boats of a specified larger length. Especially in Australia were very fast 16 foot classes see active racing. Nearly all boats are lighter and faster for a given hull length than what we know in the rest of the world. Same in the 14 foot length range.

Does me asking so conflict with your little dream of world domination?

Wouter

Perhaps I should have excepted the F16's, as we have not competed against them for any race yet, let alone the twenty odd races that we have raced against most everything else that races, and from the official results that we have on record the only 16' cat that is in the same performance perimeters as the Alpha F14 is the Taipain (and that is not actually 16' but a longer 4.9 metres)
But seeing is believing, and the vision is there for all to see on the DVD that plainly ilustrates my previous statements. Even the Taipan 4.9 sloop (without spinnaker) can be plainly seen being "completely BLOWN AWAY" on the down wind legs

So it is alright for King Weezy to go the forum of a boat Class he does not own, never has owned and probably never will own and critisize statements from the actual boat owners, but if I or any other non-f16 person goes on HIS forum and points out HIS lies, mis-statements and exagerations, he cries like a little girl and complains to Rick to have us banned from the forums.

Such a sad little hypocrite.

Hey Sam,
You give Weez too much Credit by calling him King Weezy. He is at the very least still a Peasant, He still needs to move through Nobleman, and Lord before he can be a King!!!
I think it has been great to see how the F16 folks here in the US want to do thier own thing with out the Weez. Good for them!!!

Posted the DVD off two days ago, they said that delivery is usually 7 to 10 days, let me know what you think after your review (makes you sound like a film critic or should that be critique)

I am no film critic, but I will post something about it. Usually I only say good things. I beleive that if you have nothing good to say, dont say anything.

Looking foward to it.

I apreciate your effort Darryl.

HI Darryl,

recieved DVD thanks heaps haven't listened to Pink Floyd for a while.

Thats a great looking little cat. How long are the daggerboards? there is alot out of the deck with kite up, I usualy leave mine fully down stops side slip, helping to get a hull out quicker, makes short course easier to, less jobs to do at leeward mark.

It appears to be doing similar things to Altered in the wind strength, ie hull out and speed but pointing higher.
Would love to see boat with kite shaped like Irwin kites we use on Mossies and Altered, probably no faster but heaps of power great for reaching deep on windward and return courses, better VMG.

Well done looking forward to seeing it in the flesh one day.

Regards Gary.

The video was of secondary importance, my main object is to reawaken the world to the joys of Pink Floyd!!!!!!! (instad of Rap music (spelt with a silent "C") among other types of "lost generation" music)

Hi Darryl,

I must admit I thought "wish you were here" would have been a better choice than "dark side of the moon". Although being a F16 sailer maybe F14 is the DARK SIDE in Star Wars terms of course, just thought I could swing it into something more up to date for our younger readers.

Regards Gary.

"Money" might be appropriate given what these toys are costing us.
Aah well ... One of these days.

Received the DVD--fabulous. Thanks Darryl.

It looks like the benchmark for the nascent F14 class has been set.
