We now have raw footage on:

Taipan F16 uni
Spitfire sloop
Isotope

We need more of the above--now that sailing is revving up in Australia, how about some footage from downunder!

Plus we need the following

One-offs and home builds--eg Gary's Altered, Wouter's
Taipan F16 sloop
Stealth (uni and sloop)
Blade (uni and sloop)
Mossies and Cobras
Nacra F16--when John adds his spinnaker
Bim or Jav 16
Races (like the F16 Uni race coming in Florida)

And another nice addition to the video would be commentary and interviews of:
1. Boat designers/makers re their boat (eg Boyer, Pierce, Brander), the one-off creators re their creations
2. Wouter re the reason F16 exist
3. Sailors from around the world--eg shots on the beaches of Europe, South Africa, California, Florida, Australia, Thailand

These commentaries/interviews could be overlaid with the sailing or shown in clips so we can see what y'all look like.

Take a look at John Williams post :

http://www.catsailor.com/forums/sho... ew=expanded&sb=5&o=14&fpart=

For the video link go to :

http://www.rockledgeengineering.com/video/gallery.htm

And click on "US sailing area D South Qualifier".

In the opening shot the first to boats you see are a Hobie Tiger and Taipan 4.9 crossing the start line with a I-20 as third. For some reason the Taipan crew feels that sailing with a flogging jib is fastest (Joke).

But seriously Eric, maybe you should contact these guys and see it they have any addition footage you can use.

Okay here is my part of the reply :

>> We now have raw footage on: Isotope.

Isotope with F16 spi, Cool.

>>We need more of the above--now that sailing is revving up in Australia, how about some footage from downunder!

You may well try contacting the South Asian guys. Scott McCook and others. I will send you his private e-mail adres by mail.

>>One-offs and home builds--eg Gary's Altered, Wouter's

Right, About my boat. Originally called Typhoon F16 but since the new Taipans are as good as carbon copies of my boat I think I can use the name Taipan F16 again.

I have a few pictures of the boat, but mostly on the beach. I think I have one pic showing my boat in the Westland cup racing on the water. I have no movie clips of my boat and if anything won't be able to make one till spring time 2005.

I've been to busy with all kinds of F16 stuff to make some good promo shots/movies of my boat. I hope that next year I'm less occupied with general F16 stuff and can focus more on my own sailing and showing off my own boat.

Do you want me to send all the picures I have of my boat to you ? I think I can best do that by burning a CD-rom and sending it too you.

>>Taipan F16 sloop

Hopefully I may be able to provide you with that in 2005. That is if the groupdeal between the Dutch sailors and AHPC is succesfully brought to an end.

>>Bim or Jav 16

I have a few shots of the Javelin 16 and handfull of the Bim 16. No movies. I can put these onto the CD-rom as well.

Having said this, the F16 class has no more bim16/jav16 crews linked to the class. The single crew that was linked to it has sold the boat. No Jav16 crew ever sought contact with the F16 class. Bimare yard has not sought contact with the F16 class and the yearly reviewed dispensation for their 9.15 mtr masts, issued in nov 2002, never saw a request for renewal.

In practical terms the bim16 and Jav16 are not part of the F16 class anymore. No matter how much I would like Bimare or their 16 footers to be part of the F16 class there simply does not seem to be a fleet of Bim/Jav16's out there on which to base the necessity for a dispensation. As a matter of fact the only Bim 16 to ever be linked to the F16 class had a 8.5 mtr mast and was not in violantion of the F16 rules. This boat is still in the Netherlands and it is likely that its crew will join us in 2005. Because it is compliant with the new rules there is no need to revive the 2002 dispensation.

Considering all this, should we include the Jav16's on the F16 promo video ? If so in what way, we don't want to give of the wrong impression.

>>Races (like the F16 Uni race coming in Florida)

See my other post.

>>And another nice addition to the video would be commentary and interviews of:
>>2. Wouter re the reason F16 exist

I can do that, give me a few guidelines and limits (max # words, or min # words)

And I will write down a commentary/interview.

>>3. Sailors from around the world--eg shots on the beaches of Europe, South Africa, California, Florida, Australia, Thailand

I've got a reasonably large database of all F16 pics ever to be published on the net or send to me. It pretty much includes all makes, Mossies, Altered,, My own, and the factory boats. I think I should put all this on the CD and send it too you. The area's I'm lacking are the South Asian boats (their website with pics is to be launched soon) and the new Taipan F16's as these are really new. I do have several pics of Spifires as well but a new search on the web will give you several more, especially regatta pics.

So give me (US) some clear pointers and thus make sure we get it right first time around.

The rockledge video shows all boats in equal measure and thus show quite a bit of the F16's as there were 3 of them there.
