November 5/6 is the Weston Cat open sailing in Southampton Water. Lots of big boats to get in the way The FX-1/Stealths will have their own start (providing we have enough boats but it looks like we will) See Weston sc web site for event details. To date we have 8 boats up for it. so come on you single handers (or 2 up)let's have a race. Dutch visitors welcome. I promise to get my sheets muddled and let you all go ahead.

First a bump to have this post and the Weston in the lime-light again.

I fear you will see no Dutch visitors. We all have our boats in winterstorage now, with several of them fully dissembelled (Spelling ?). The Blade F16 is now at the future European agent, where it will be shown to several potential buyers flying or driving in. Geert's boat has been sold to a Swede and he is boatless at this time. I'm in the middle of an exam period. None of us Dutch sailors expected the season to continue after halve october so I fear we'll all leave our boats as they are now. Strapped to the top of our garage or buried deep among other trailers and caravans in commercial winterstorage places.

Sorry.

I wish you guys (who are still sailing !) best of winds and luck at Weston !

I can't make this one, I'm afraid. Stuck on a plane again

What's all this "season" nonsense, Wouter? It's not really sailing unless the water is freezing onto your mainsail, you know

In my younger days, I have drug my boat across 200 yards of ice to get to an open patch of water on the lake (more slush than open water), and packed up in a blizzard, but my bones do not seem to be able to take that kind of abuse any more.

Matt, maybe we could get these guys to come over here in the winter and hook them up with some Blades and Taipans, for a taste of sunshine in January? Maybe do a round robin type regatta, swaping boats or something, at my house, Eustis or Kelly Park? Do you have any extra Blade's hanging around that need drivers?

The way things are going at Delta, I may be looking for a job pretty soon. I'd gladly be a crash test dummy for you! I think your kids really need some horses, what kind of father are you anyway? How about a trade?? And Chuck, how can you deny Lucy and Mavis the joy owning a horse can provide??

It will be 2 years before I can affort a mid-winter sailing trip to Florida, but when that time comes I'll be happy as I don't know what to have charter Blade and go race in Tims backyard lake.

With respect to putting your cat into winter storage; I kind of like it that way. 6 months of intensive sailing and then 6 months to work-up lust and energy for the new season. So count me out till april 2006 !

Although I may take a ride on a leadsled during the winter months if the opportunity would present itself.
