Welcome to the Formula 16 forum.
This forum contains several hundred threads and several thousand individual
posts, all dealing with beach catamarans of the Formula 16 type. In order to
keep the view simple it was decided to only show the threads that were
active in the last 2 weeks. However all posts since july 2001 can be
retrieved via de search engine or by scrolling through the pages. Later more
on this.
Everybody is free to post anything within good taste, all sailors and
enthousiasts are encouraged to participate as long the topics have some link
with Formula 16 cats. We value all opinions. However to prevent spamming and
general robotic abuse we do require that you get a userid and password
before you can make full use of the forums functionality. By default
(without userid) the use of the forum is limited to reading and using the
search engine. This is indicated by the grey colour scheme of the forum
view.
After getting an userid you can alter anything from colour scheme to the
ordering of posts according to personal preferences. You are required to
give a valid e-mail adress however we do not use your userid or personal
data for any mailings or statistics. The userid is simply a handle that that
allows the forum software to retrieve your personal preferences and that has
a function in preventing the forum from degenerating. Your personal
information can not be accessed by anyone unless you specify it to be public
info yourself. The default setting is "hidden"
Any interested user can get an userid by clicking "New User" in the upper
menu bar or clicking "subscribe/unsubscribe to forum" in the bottom left
hand corner of the index page. This registration also gives full access to
all the other forums and features on the www.catsailor.com webpage. It is
also completely free of charge. All thanks to Rick White and his "catsailor"
inititative.
In order to access the older posts you'll need to scroll down and adjust the
viewed timeframe in the bottom left hand corner. This will show an extra
menu bar, just below the last visible post, of pages containing all the
posts submitted in the timeframe you have specified. Another handy feature
is the search engine that can be accessed in the bottom right hand corner.
Please feel free to contribute even when you're not a Formula 16 sailor.
