Maybe if you guys took up a collection and bought him an F16 ..............

<img src=

No free rides for him. Those are reserved for the guys and gals who were in on the program from the first hour. When it was still very much unfashionable to be a F16 sailor.

Hey Mini, ease up pal. It's just boat racing. Let's see if I can find that last trophy from the regatta I won in 2005. Hey, here it is! All $2.50 worth of it.......

Looks like you only have 7 posts going there. On the forum, folks usually rate your opinion by the number of posts you have and how long you been on. So you have a really low rating. Now if say you have like 6658 are so posts, and have been around here a long time, you could have a really high rating in some peoples eyes and still not know squat about sailing!! <img src=

Also

budies

has 2 d's. And by the way, I don't have any buddies, I'm a unirig sailor <img src=

Is one other boat to race against (who has demonstrated the desire to sell it) a good reason to stay with the N17? Why not a CFR then (to race the better competition- Lambert?)? If you want people to race against and live in a deep talent pool, why not A class? Why hasn't fad done A class?
It would be great if you joined the F16 crowd (fad may never speak to you again though... but is that a bad thing?). I think you would have a lot to offer.. probably could teach me a lot too. how about we trade? there are more N17s up here than down there and there are more F16s down there... oh wait... nah <img src=

alt=

/>

seriously though, do you think the N17 or F16 will grow more in the panhandle?

Thomm,
We did get the ride in and it was quite pleasant.
24 deg c (75 deg F) and for the majority of the ride we could look out over the water. A light head wind coming home but still quite pleasant.
Hope to do an 80km (50mile) ride Sunday if the weather is anywhere near as good.

Phill,

That does sound like it was a nice ride. BTW, thanks for converting all that stuff. I didn't want to have to get my calculator out again. Dubyah had me doing calculations earlier with groupings and everything.

Hay guys, just let Tom be. If he wants an Nacra F17 then he wants a Nacra F17; end of discussion.

Far more interesting is the following observation :

If you want people to race against and live in a deep talent pool, why not A class? Why hasn't fad done A class?

Now that IS a good topic for a long thread.

I asked him. He gave a one word reply,

money

!

The A cats are excellent boats. Their performance speaks for itself. The caliber of the sailors in the fleet is outstanding. But, they are just too expensive for my wallet.

Nice bunch of guys (and gals) to party with too!

I might reconsider if the A's allow double trapezing, have a spinnaker and are about 4000 Euro's cheaper.

Ahh well, I guess that I'm still stuck to the F16's for a long time to come. <img src=

Yes, with the HT I get what I wrote down but loose the ability to singlehandedly sail and right it. Not to mention the fact that 140 kg will break my back too, altbeit more slowly. The only HT's that are 130 kg are just as expensive as the A-cats.

Zero sum game ! Just traded in one mediocre hand of cards for a different mediocre hand of cards. Nothing won !

Hey Phill/Rolf,

You guys might want to check this out:

www.cyclingforum.com

Be careful though, after being on CS so long you will think you have entered some type of parallel universe with this one being full of cyclists. It could almost be the same people with different names!

Thomm,
That forum stuff is a scary idea.
Just checked the forecast for tomorrow. 19 deg C (66deg F) with a SE breese in the morning and NE in the arvo. 8 to 13 knots.
As my planned ride is 25miles to the north and then 25 miles south and back home , if timed right, I may fluke a tail wind both ways.
All good stuff because-

Life's a journey not a destination.

Regards,
Phill

If you're still looking for a good, solid, fast 'bike' then check this out!! I won it on a raffle and donated it to the wife. I prefer my TREK 7000.
