Hi all,
I'm considering getting back into beach cat sailing after 19 years (most of which we owned and raced either an F-24 MKI or an F-31 UC). Our last Hobie was an 18 Magnum and we loved those Magnum wings. So if we decide to get a TheMightyHobie18 we'll definitely go the wings route. So here's my question:

Can you install Magnum wings on a stock TheMightyHobie18? I understand that finding a TheMightyHobie18 Magnum or wings alone will be no small task but if I come across wings before finding a TheMightyHobie18 magnum it would be helpful to know what's involved with fitting them on a stock TheMightyHobie18. Thanks.

I'm not completely positive, but I'm pretty sure they'll bolt right on without modification. I sold my Magnum 4 or 5 years ago for $2500, I've seen the wings sell for $500 to $1000, so I'd avoid spending a lot of money on the wings before locking in a price on a boat. Welcome back, it's still every bit as much fun as you remember!

Yes the wings can be added to any 18 On some 18's the tramp needs to be cuut at the front x bar but thats it 4 slugs in the x bars and 4 mount holders on the x bar end caps.

Thanks Dave & Rich. Any thoughts on where to find magnum wings other than this site and thebeachcats.com?

the Hobie forums site has a section on just the h-18 and a parts section. Other than that try your local hobie dealer or Jeremy at Surf City Cats. He's really helpfull at locating things like that.

Order Parts by calling: (831)359-5918
