[#24062]

I am orienting myself in the F18 market to see what is available at what cost. It would be very helpful if I could get some help with links to the most common online places for F18 ads

over here

. Not looking to buy just now, just want to watch the market for a while.

I already know this one:
http://www.marktplaats.nl/index.php... 6ppu%3D0%26p%3D1%26av%5B-1%5D%5B0%5D%3D0

Others?

Can it get darker than where I am already walking?? From the monohullers point of view of course <img src="<>/laugh.gif" alt="laugh" title="laugh" height="15" width="15" />

The F18 class looks like it is going to take off in Norway, finally! If it does, we will want to be part of that. The only class here today is the H16, and only in a very concentrated area. I am just looking for now, but if the F18 gets going here, we will get one in addition to our F16s. Sure hope there is no controversy in that.

More links? Pretty please with sugar and spice?? <img src="<>/smile.gif" alt="smile" title="smile" height="15" width="15" />

Hi Rolf

For the UK try www.catamaran.co.uk or www.f18.org.uk

Regards, Adrian.

Quite a lot of people from North and Eastern Europe (Scandinavia and Poland mostly) come to Holland to buy 2nd hand cats (either thru classifieds or the dealerships).
I believe one company even shipped whole containers of H16s and Prindles up north.

The Dutch website Marktplaats sometimes has some interesting deals on offer,
how about Mitch Booths olympic Tornado (includes the Code-0 and a day of training).

Three good sources there.

My german is not good, but I can get along. Kind of interesting to see the different models available in Germany compared to the UK. Those Dart Hawks are still around in the UK!

I gather the general meaning from a dutch or danish text, but norwegian german might be more difficult. Let me know when I can be from help.

The Pound is really weak against the Euro at the moment so there are some good buys on the Forum page of www.f18.org.uk

Try http://www.catsanddinghies.nl/ They also have an overview of cats for sale, but it is mainly in holland.

Try local Norwegian cat sailing clubs. For sure they have a classifieds page.

What local norwegian cat sailing clubs? <img src="<>/laugh.gif" alt="laugh" title="laugh" height="15" width="15" /> <img src="<>/laugh.gif" alt="laugh" title="laugh" height="15" width="15" /> <img src="<>/laugh.gif" alt="laugh" title="laugh" height="15" width="15" />
Seriously, there are none. There are a few collections of H16s, and now what looks like 5 F18s in the capitol next year. Norway is a white spot on the map of beachcat activity.

Thanks for the tip! The netherlands is not that far away, and transport can be arranged.

Hi Rolf,

if you go to The Netherlands, you probably go by the ferry Oslo Kiel? In this case, the local Hobie- and Nacra/ Infusion dealers might be from interest, and you can make a VAT-deal. Both are about one hour drive from the harbour:

I would probably drive down through Sweden and Denmark. That way I could combine the trip with some family visits, but Kiel is

just across the sound

when down in southern Sweden/Denmark. <img src="<>/smile.gif" alt="smile" title="smile" height="15" width="15" />

Thanks for the links (and the offer for translation). I have got what I really wanted, lots of links to used boat dealers/markets.

Rolf:
How are the condition at the place you are sailing?
Low or High: Winds/Waves/Tides/Chop/etc

We have all kinds of weather, deping on wether we have a low from the caribbean, artic low, high pressure system with/without thermals etc. We are also in the happy position that we can choose to sail in sheltered waters or more open waters. Conditions here change very fast. Today we have had sun and no wind, snow, rain and now there is a gale blowing. All perfectly normal.
Local conditions dont matter much though as the only reason we look at an F18 is to participate in the regatta activites out of town/country. For our local sailing we will be sailing F16s. If/when we get an F18, it will be something we do to have the opportunity to participate in more regattas.

Doing another build is also a possibility, but the referenced projects would have to be closed first.
