Hello all,

The fine folks at Lake Hartwell are hosting the NAF18 Southern Area championships for us again this year. As most of you already know this is a very well run event on and off the water! For those of you that haven’t experienced Spring Fever… what are you waiting for?

This a 2 & 3 day format regatta, so if you can’t make Friday there are no worries your Saturday & Sunday scores are used to create your Friday scores (much like redress).

Since this is the Southern Area Championship we will be weighing boats and class membership is required. The treasurer has requested that you pay your dues online if possible ( http://www.naf18.com -> Join Renew). You will be able to pay your membership dues onsite if necessary.

A quick note on weigh ins: Your boat MUST be dry inside and out, please don’t splash it before you bring it to the scales. We will also be weighing the boats stick down. My plan is to be there before noon on Thursday and we can begin weighing boats as soon as I can get the scales out of the truck.

For those of you planning on brining your boats to the North American Championship in the fall, I’ll be measuring boats so you can get your measurement certificate. I will only be doing this on Thursday, Friday is to hectic. I’m shipping the scales to the west coast at the conclusion of the regatta.

I look forward to seeing you all again and having a great three days of sailing.

Regards,

David Ingram

Will the measurements from Pensacola suffice?

Quick answer is

no.

You weren't issued a measurement certificate - you were spot-checked for violations. Contact your local measurer to get the certificate filled out and approved.

Also as a point of clarification, measurement certificates are NOT required for the Southern Area NAF18 Championship.

Southern Area NAF18 Championship at Lake Hartwell, GA. - Measurement Cert. is NOT required.

North American F18 Championship at Long Beach, CA - Measurement Cert IS required.

Hello all,

It’s that time again. The NAF18 Southern Area Championship is less than two weeks away. We currently have 10 teams preregistered and I know we can do better than that. It’s always a good time on and off the water.

Now down to business. We are weighing boats for this event and I need you to bring your boat to the scales dry inside and out. Do not splash your boat before you come to the scales. We are also weighing the boats stick down. I’ll be weighing boats and crew Thursday morning and my wife/crew is taking the afternoon shift. Be nice to her, she’s not an Ahole she just married one. I’ll also have the scales set up Friday and Saturday morning. If you need your boat weighed Friday or Saturday morning please be ready to go first thing so we can get it out of the way.

Also for this event class membership is required. We ask that you take care of this online before you get to the event it just makes it easier for everyone. Also there are cool gift certificates that you receive with your membership so check it out.

Please make sure you bring your crew and boat corrector weights with you to the scale.
