[#23009]

I miss looking at cool shots while sailing. We have not had a post for them in a while. I will start out.

This is from a regatta 2 weeks ago in San Diego. It was light wind so I had to be down on the tramp a bit so Eileen could be out on the wire as it is easier for her to hold the sheets that way. In more wind she would start coming back toward the stern. I have also attached a file in case you cannot see it in this post.

Okay, I'll play. Spring Fever 2008 Southern Area F18 Championships. What a beautiful day!

Picture by Walter Coooper. So nice we bought it.

Here's one for the books.

Racing for the finish and in 3nd place. We're running hot and out on the wire, set to converge on the 2nd place boat just above the line. We're the ROW boat, and we've got him right where we want him.
I go to throw the last jibe, and as I swing in off the wire, the harness hooks the tiller and drives us up,up,up...

Lucky me <img src=

Little F18 racing right off the beach in New Hampshire. One of the starts in this regatta had the entire fleet 1/4 of the way to the Windward mark with 10seconds remaining to the start. Hey, it has been a long winter up here and we were all a bit anxious to go racin...

Interesting control technique there, Tony. Kudos for sharing such an intimate moment with the group. <img src=

Here's me on the front of my boat:

Here's me on the back - not a terribly exciting pic to look at, but I was excited at the time. Roger and I are crossing the fleet here through the last gate on the way to a bullet. <img src=
