Awards are done, the Alter trophy made an appearance (Mike and Tripp tried unsuccessfully to sneak it home), and Mike and Tripp got thrown off the dock into the harbor by the rest of the fleet.

Full results: http://www.regattanetwork.com/clubmgmt/applet_regatta_results.php?regatta_id=9973

The plan is to go back to sloops for 2016!

Thanks for the updates Mike. I didn't have anything to comment on, but I was checking in when I could to see what was going on.

Mike, thanks for the updates. What does 'back to sloops' mean? No spinnaker? Are we talking Hobie 16's?

Back to sloops means, it's the sloops' turn in the rotation (major disciplines of beach cats: spin, sloop, uni). I haven't seen a final decision on the boat or location, bids are in progress.

Karl, I can't believe that you had no comment! Sorry for the dry info, I was lucky to be able to get that much up. I spent the first two days filling in on a mark boat, handling 6 marks on an 18-foot RIB, which was not fast.

If it's on Isotopes at Lake Waccamaw, I'm in!

Last I heard (the beginning of June), the 2016 US Multihull Championship for the Hobie Alter Trophy will be sailed in Hobie 18s on Lake Carlyle, IL, August 22-26, 2016 in conjunction with the Hobie 17 North Americans.

The event's been approved by the HCANA, but I don't know if it's been formally approved by US Sailing yet. I don't see any reason why it wouldn't be.

Yes, we did see that bid.

Officially, the US Sailing site still says

Selection pending

and does mention Hobie 18. I have no further info.

Eric, if you want it on Isotopes, you need to demonstrate that it's an active class with a reasonably large nationals or NAs, then just submit a bid.
