Maybe a question which has been asked before, but I'm not able to find anything by the search function.

Does anybody know if there is a good theory book available for advanced cat sailors? In Holland we have a book written by Diana Bogaards which is usefull (mainly for the starting cat sailor), but I'm wondering what's available in the English language??

Here's one, Rick White's

Catamaran Racing for the 90's

which is very good but was written a long time ago, prior to all the Formula Spinnaker boats. There is a small chapter on spinnakers, but as I said, it was written a long time ago, things have developed quite a bit since then.

Rick, any chance of a

Catamaran Racing for the 2020's?

+1 for that book, mine is dog eared from re reading, as my sailing improved more of the book made sense.
+1000 on the

Catamaran Racing for the 2020's

, would be mostly adding a few chapters as most of the original book is still relevant

I've really enjoyed Bethwaite's books including

Higher Performance Sailing

. Down side is that they read a bit like a college textbook and is focused more on 18footers, 49ers and the like. However, after reading them I've found those boats tactics/strategy are very similar and it is chock full of how's and why's which have really helped me better understand the nuances of getting the most out of our boats.

Recently read

Assymetric Sailing

by Andy Rice. Good book, but not sure if its worth $20.

Thanks for the contribution... however the conclusion also in the English language seems to be that there are not many books available. (Or nobody is reads books on this forum 🙂 )

But I've ordered it via Amazone. Deliverytime 18-32 business days 🙁
