OK,
after I checked the delete button on 215 messages, I get to the bottom and see a button that says
check all
. DAMMIT!

LOL! Been there.
A good web designer would see that post and say
Hmmmm, maybe if the buttons were at the top of the list of messages, they would be more obvious and easier to use.
