Broke my boom
Took my eldest son out Saturday and had a pretty good day going until the boom broke about 2 feet from the end. I have a Prindle 16 (80ish model) that had a Hobie boom courtesy of the previous owner.
Thankfully we were off Dunedin Causeway and I just removed the boom, attached the mainsheet to the outhaul bowline and limped back in on the jib and
loose footed
main.
Anyone in the Tampa Bay area got a CHEAP Prindle boom? I'm short on disposable income and it's gotta be cheap. Otherwise it's off to Don's Salvage for another Hobie boom and a refitting of the gooseneck.

You might want to try a local metal dealer, the metal extrusion that is used is pretty common size, and you can cut it yourself, you need to slot the end for the outhaul traveler but that can be done with a router and a carbide bit, on a bench with a 2X4 as a fence guide, just use the existing hardware and you are back in business
