Anyone have a line on where I can get JUST the tire? Check Rick's store, N/A need to get tire and rim.

Thanks

Same thing, tire and rim only. And Murray's too.

The only thing I can suggest is what used to be Hedlund Marine in Evanston, IL. I know they have stocked cat trax in the past.

I don't know if it's BS or not, but I was told by my dealer that the newer tires weren't compatable with older rims (my Cat Trax are from 97, I replaced the tires with rims sometime around 2006).

I've also seen some discussion here about getting tubes if the tires are basically OK just not holding air.

Hope this helps.

Mike

If your tires are even in marginal shape, tubes will solve the problem. Make sure to get the ones with stainless valve stems, and dab a little Lanocote where the rim comes into contact with the stem. Once you get the tire off of the axle, set the rim on its side hold onto something and stomp on the bead with your foot to break it. Install tube, and off you go.

I put tubes in both my Cat Trax and Euros (plastic Rim) and my headaches disappeared. Otherwise they were always going flat.
We sell the tubes also, by the way, and fit both.

Yeah, if you're a 6'4" freak that works. I used the bucket of the skidloader to bust the bead on a set I had.

If the tire is still there, a tube is a pretty good way to fix it.

It helps for sure.
I showed up to a meeting at a Yacht Club the other day full of people that were talking smack on something I wrote. Several of them PM'd me with a big F-off. I sat in the back sipping a rum and coke, just listening. When the commodore introduced me to the group, their jaws dropped, their eyes bugged, out and the **** immediately stopped slinging. Another instance where being big is an advantage. Bad for cat sailing though.
If you've met me in person you'd know that half the stuff I type is with a smile and a twinkle in my eye. No sense in being too serious, you know.

Hijack off. Good luck with the wheel dilemma.

Hmm! Guess I am a candy butt. Took mine to the local garage.., cost $5.
Had I done it myself, I probably would have destroyed the tire, tube and rim in the process, and would have cost a lot more.

Try changing out your valve stems first. They only cost about $3.00 and with a little soapy water and some effort you can probably fix the problem if its a slow leak.

Did it with one that came with my boat, the schrader valve was corroded and wouldn't seal completely. Cut the old ones off, slapped some new ones in and haven't had a problem since.

The last time I had a leaky tire I pulled the old valve stem out, dumped a 16 oz bottle of Slime in, and put the new valve stem in. When I inflated the tire, green stuff came out from the bead, for while. That was 6 years ago. No leaks since

John I replaced both my tires last year at J and J Tires in Canoga Park Ca. Took a day to get the tires and cost $50 each.
