I know this has been asked a million times, but what do you use to repair your rubber booties? I have a Musto suit with rubber booties and a quater size hole in one of them. It seems that a bike intertube patch would work, but am I thinking too simple or is the rubber different?
I'd send it off to amigo's drysuit repair (Jake has the contact info), and have goretex booties installed. Someone else may know a little more as far as price goes.
I recently replaced a couple of boots on drysuits. It's not too hard. You probably could just use an inner tube patch, but if, like mine, the reason it has got a hole in it is because the rubber's knackered then you'd do better to replace the whole boot.
You cut the old boot off, leaving the an inch or so wide ring of rubber where it was previously attached to the drysuit. Rather than trying to get the old boot off completely, you just glue the new boot onto that ring.
You need to stick something inside the leg to make the thing hold its shape. I used a balloon. Inflate this inside the leg of the drysuit where you're going to glue the new boot on. Slide the new boot then carefully roll back the top inch or two. Apply glue to both surfaces (the ring of old rubber, and the
inside
top inch of the new boot which is now exposed). After the glue is tacky, roll the top of the boot back and press it into place.
Wait for the glue to dry, then burst the balloon <img src=

I found a good website with some photos that explain it much better than I can, but I can't now find it again...
Most drysuit repair places will also sell the boots and suitable glue. Sending away for repair wasn't that expensive, but it would have been hassle to get it packaged up and sent - it's easy enough to do yourself.

oh yeah...Amigos is the bomb. Very reasonable prices - I've had them put in two neck seals and both times you couldn't tell that it wasn't original. Highly recommended!
