Dunedin Causeway - ALL THEY SAY IT IS & MORE
Cat sailing is strong at "the causeway". We have catsailors that come from across the state to spend the weekend sailing with us. Beautiful beach to launch from, plenty of parking, concession area, first rate bathrooms with showers and non-motorized watercraft rentals. You can leave your boat on the beach overnight if you wish. Sail in the protected bay or hit the Gulf with all it's sea life and islands.
As Catman stated in a post, camping on the islands almost every weekend. And, I might add, we are talking primative camping to "the generator & TV crowd". Sail all night, all day, or all night & all day! Regular races to participate in, if you desire.
Can't count how many "new sailors" have purchased cats this year, many of them new. Just a layed back, friendly sailing crowd that will take newbies out for a ride.
The area also has world, national and state ranked sailors to test your skills against, if you desire.
I consider myself fortunate to have "the causeway" to share with so many catsailors.
Stop by when you are in the area. We'll show you a great time.

On December 5-8 the Olympic Tornado U.S. National Championship Regatta will be held off of the Dunedin Causeway. It should actually be an international event as I hear many overseas teams will be here as well as the U.S. guys.
Today I saw a PARADE of Tornados on trailers heading down Gulf to Bay Blvd. in Clearwater. Anybody know why? Perhaps they were heading to Robbie Danials' house. I looked for them at the Causeway but only found the usual weekday sailors enjoying another PERFECT winter sailing day, 70 degrees, wind 10-15 all day, and not a cloud in sight.
I can't wait to see the Tornado BadBoys tearing it up!
I am reminded of that old bicycling movie, "Breaking Away". I can see myself sneaking onto the Tornado course
on my P18-2 to race with the BigBoys. I could try saying Hi in Italian and see if they would mind.
Actually, Bob Curry could probalby pull it off on his H-14!
