I heard recently that Omohundro is being shut down in the US. They are going to do there manufacturing in New Zealand and concentrate on big boats. Has anyone heard what Performance Cats going to do? They made a good mast for the Inter's. Maybe a bit stiff or was it the downhaul restriction?
Reasonablly priced carbon masts (is that possible) for beach cats may be hard to find. If they shift to Marstrom the price will go up a boat buck.

From another forum I got the info that the former Omohundro plant is being shut but other Southern Spars plants will remain in business (also in the US, I infer).

My understanding is that Southern Spars (Part of the NORTH MARINE GROUP) will continue to make spars in New Zealand only. The staff at OMO was sumarily let go with little notice and there is now one less carbon supplier here in the states.
