Hello all, I'm new here, so I apologize in advance for any dumb questions.

I've never had a Hobie before, but my Uncle just offered to give me his 14' with new tramp and new sails. The kicker is, it has no trailer. He also offered to buy a trailer if I can find one cheaply enough. I've looked high and low, and found one, a Hobie 16 trailer.

Would it fit? or am I out of luck. I've also seen a Hobie 14' with trailer for sale, but the trailer is said to 'need alot of tlc'... and that leaves me with 2 boats and 1 trailer

Thanks for any help!

Jim

The 14 will fit on a 16's trailer, although you may have to adjust the rollers a bit - the 14 is 6" narrower than a 16.

Otherwise, it should be OK.

Thanks!!!

I'm excited. Of course, I have to do the entire 'learn how to sail' thing. I've done other small boats (my brother has a 12' Snark) and had a blast, but I've been laughingly told by my co-workers to prepare to get 'really wet...' 🙂
